One of the things that mark a successful life is wholeness. Wholeness is not only about having lots of money in the bank, rather, a confidence that life treats you well. This can answer questions like 'why am I here'.
Ever since I was young, I have always dreamed about what I would be like when I grow old. I would imagine myself clad in white gown as I would run down through hospital corridors. Being a doctor is all I wanted. I never had the chance to be one, but I am still a practitioner in the hospital, though not running through the hospital corridors as a doctor, yet still touching peoples lives and imparting healing upon them as a rehabilitation specialist. That is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am favored to be actually doing the same.
So what does a favored life mean? Below are some points I want to share about favor.
First, I believe that in life, it is a must for us to know where we are going and what we want to achieve. Everyone must be aware of his or her purpose. Purpose has a lot of principles that we need to understand. According to a multifaceted minister, Dr. Myles Munroe, purpose is a driving force that propels one to an unprecedented height, and the same purpose protects the person from both external and internal corruption. So when you know what you are made to do, you be the very first to make sure that purpose comes to life. Plus, a strong sense of protection is needed. In spite of all the forces trying to knock you off course, nothing can derail you as long as you are locked in to your purpose. I remember, a speaker at a recently concluded life coach seminar in one of the major cities in the Philippines, who said, 'a person who is locked in to his purpose can never go wrong. His energy is more than enough to rise up ten times even if he may fall one time.
Life is never an easy thing. Life is an understanding of purpose so that no matter what comes along the way, and I assure you there will be a handful, sometimes you might think that things can get too overwhelming, you will always have a vision of finishing through until the very purpose for which you exist will at a grasp right in your hands. That will have to be your greatest glory!
• First, when you live on purpose you become more visible. You are seen more because you show up for life. You have a glow about you and attract others to you. People want to know "what you are on"...people are attracted to you because you are living a life that creates a powerfully positive aura around you...Some people do not know what to do with all this attention, so they play small, give up their purpose, and live accidentally...and invisibly.
• Second, living on purpose requires a higher level of responsibility. You have discovered the jewel of your life, and it is now the most important force in your life. It takes much responsibility for such a jewel to be taken care of. It requires protection and daily inventory. Your purpose leads your way and will require you to create a disciplined life to have it fulfilled...Some people are responsibility-phobic, meaning that they are scared of responsibility. Perhaps some old programming told them that they couldn't handle it, or didn't deserve it. In any case, they don't take the necessary responsibility for their lives and they, therefore, miss their purpose...They, too, play small.
