These days, a lot of heroes have come to change the world. For children, their heroes might be superman, wonder woman or naruto. In a simple way, children opted to give gratitude for their heroes by imitating them. The way they define real heroes change from a fantasy to reality as they grow older. For nurses, their hero is no other than Florence Nightingale or better known as ?The lady with a lamp?. Nowadays, 9 11 quotes the drastic situation where heroes died without armors. Those who died during the 9 11 attack are already considered as modern heroes. Some may say that they are just victims of inhuman act of terrorism, but for others they bring about change when it comes to global awareness. Those who were included in the worlds most devastating event leaved their families with traumatic experiences that they can never forget.
There are a lot of potential heroes today. Majority of them are still alive and there are a few who chose to be ordinary yet they serve their purpose well like the teachers, soldiers, missionaries and etc. They bring honor to their country by securing the needs of their people.
Who knows, the person who lives beside would be the next legendary hero? One only needs to understand that the world needs you so you can extend your noble duties and responsibilities to your countrymen.
Each period in time has its heroes. In Biblical times we have had Moses, Abraham, David and Solomon, to name a few. And of course, the greatest hero of all is Jesus. From the beginning of our country, we have had George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson. Even just saying these names evokes a feeling of reverence. These people were heroes then as they will be for time immemorial. We can take a tour through history and reverently remember Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, and Alexander Graham Bell, among others.
Mother Theresa has been a hero to many, as well as Mahatma Gandhi and Clara Barton. Back in the 1950's and 60's a hero to kids everywhere was Superman. When George Reeves first donned the famous red and blue outfit with the big S across his chest, could he ever have imagined the impact he would have many years later? He has done the Superman character proud. Christopher Reeve, who also played Superman, was also a hero. A tragic fall from a horse elevated him from onscreen hero to real life hero.
