There are many different kinds of soccer camps, positional, team, youth, high school, college recruiting, technical skills, and just for fun camps. • Lyon Beats Real Madrid In Champions League Play By:-Ross Everett
Jean Makoun scored early in the second half to give Lyon a hard fought 1-0 victory in the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League matchup against Real Madrid. The Spanish champions lost for the third straight time on Lyon's Stade Gerland home field and will now have an uphill battle when the teams meet at Bernabeu to advance to the next round. With the Champions League final slated to be held in their stadium, an exit this early in the competition would be nothing short of an embarrassment for Real Madrid.
  • Switzerland Pulls Huge World Cup Soccer Upset Of Spain By:-Ross Everett
Switzerland used a Gelson Fernandez goal in the 52nd minute to shock Spain 1-0 in perhaps the biggest upset of the opening round of World Cup play. Spain entered the competition as one of the favorites to win the entire tournament, but was shut down by a feisty Switzerland defense. Spain controlled possession throughout and outshot their opponents 25-9, but only 5 of their shots were 'on goal'. It was the 5th consecutive World Cup shutout for the Swiss team, who made it through the entire 2006 World Cup without conceding a goal before being eliminated on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals.
  • Mexico Wins A Crucial World Cup Qualifying Game Against The United States By:-Ross Everett
An early goal gave the United States soccer team hope, but in the end the result of their World Cup Qualifier against Mexico at Azteca Stadium was a familiar loss. Mexico rallied for a 2-1 triumph in front of their home fans, sending the US to defeat for the 23rd time in 24 games at the venue. The US soccer record at the 105,000 seat venue is 0-23-1 with the best result the US has been able to muster on Mexican soil was a 0-0 draw in 1997.
  • Burnley Shocks English Premier League Champion Manchester United By:-Ross Everett

In their first home game at the top level of English soccer in 33 years Burnley upset reigning league champions Manchester United before 20,000 jubilant fans at their Turf Moor home pitch.
  • MLS Not Shopping Soccer Superstar Donovan By:-Ross Everett
Landon Donovan raised his international stock with a spirited performance for the USA national team at the recently concluded World Cup. That doesn't mean he'll be shipping off to the Premier League or Serie A. On Thursday, Major League Soccer (MLS) commissioner Don Garber emphasized that the United States' top professional league wouldn't be accepting transfer offers for Donovan. Garber said that he'd be receptive to loan offers during the MLS off-season, but that his league has no plans to entertain transfer offers for any sort of long term duration.
